train

huddersfield is a 15 minute train journey from leeds which is on the main east coast branch line to london arriving at king's cross​

but also only 30 minutes to manchester which is also a main branch line to london arriving at euston

and another great service many haven't heard of runs from brighouse to london king's cross is operated by grand central 

plane

there are four major airports - manchester, leeds/bradford and sheffield all within half an hour and liverpool about an hour

for those of you with your own light aircraft we even have what is known as huddersfield international airport (also known as crossland moor airfield)!!!

automobile

we are less than 10 minutes from the m62 which in itself connects to the m1, m6 and a1

there are many ways to get here, some of the routes are very scenic and very rural

but like the picture above shows of the horse and cart, that is the era the roads were built, so don't expect wide sprawling roads, we have hilly, at times narrow, roads that are filled with charm and character, and on your journey you are likely to pass one of the many stone water points that capture from the many springs to water the horses 

use a sat nav with postcode hd7 4jd to get here, but use your common sense as a sat nav may try to make you take some oversharp corners, so beware, look out for the road called carr top lane which is the most sensible of roads to approach us on - if in any doubt then just call for advice

bus

there is a fantastic set of bus services in the huddersfield area and here in golcar we are fortunate to be at the end of a circular bus route that runs in both directions from huddersfield bus station and the journey takes about 15 to 20 minutes, the next bus is never far away during the day and the evening service runs until quite late too, all for less than £2

taxis

there are many taxi companies from the white licensed vehicles to many private hire companies, some of them have mini buses and some have apps to use to book them - uber also operates
