a local pub that has been recently renovated, serves great beer and is open Wednesday through to sunday and normally has a guest doing food in their kitchen so keep an eye on their announcements for some tasty treats

a family friendly country pub offering delicious home cooked food and a fantastic selection of drinks including four Yorkshire ales on rotation

dogs are welcome in the bar area, where you can also dine, but not in the restaurant

bolster moor farm shop
just about visible from our drive is bolster moor farm shop which is award winning and has a large cafe too, beware, often very busy - but it is walkable and does great food

is a traditional pub serving a variety of local ales, international beers & fantastic wines 

the menu is centred around hearty favourites, unique specials and a "proper" sunday roast!

the golcar lily public house and restaurant is nestled high on the pennines above huddersfield and visible from the driveway of millbarn, with commanding views over the colne valley and beyond - Darryl and his team await to welcome you with good food, beer and a respite form the elements

Zapato is an independent, family-run brewing company who "pour" their heart into every pint and know that good beer and good hospitality go hand in hand

their taproom is set amongst jaw-dropping scenery in the Yorkshire Pennines amongst the beech trees by the River Colne

from classic styles to inventive brews, their beers are simple, beautiful, and always full of depth and character - intended to bring repeated joy!

ashby's deli cafe - slades road hd7 5af - a licensed café in the heart of the colne valley serving high quality breakfasts and speciality sandwiches as well as a range of salads, omelettes, burgers, paninis and continental platters
the little bridge wine bar - hd7 5hf - a lovely wine bar that also serves fine food and in a picturesque area by the canal and river

​de sandro pizzeria and ristorante  - hd3 3nt is a very good italian owned by an italian family and is about 3 miles away and remains very popular
grapollo's hd4 6ej - is another popular italian restaurant and is on the edge of huddersfield town centre in lockwood and is about 3 miles away
chilli lounge hd1 1eh - is one of the best indian restaurants around and will cook you up a curry of your choice - even without chilli!
om is where the heart is hd7 5ag - is a quirky new coffe bar and yoga studio in slaithwaite where you can get daytime food, nighttime drinks and of course yoga including baby yoga 
lalas hd1 1ex - is another good indian restaurant and is set in an amazing building in the heart of the picturesque huddersfield st. george's square
thai sakon hd1 5ay - really doesn't need explaining, highly recommended and always booked in advance so make sure you get in quick!
apadana hd1 5dl - one of the few persian restaurants around here​
arcade coffee and food hd1 1nd - another favourite of ours and situated in the beautiful byram arcade in huddersfield town centre
​marsden is about 5 miles away and has some lovely places to eat and is worth seeing too

and yes,  you can get a chinese, indian, fish and chips, pizza and more delivered to the door
there are lots of menus on the sideboard in the lounge

the one closest to us for curry, pizza, burgers, kebabs is marios on james street in golcar or for a chinese we use tsuen wan in milnsbridge, the next village about 1 mile from golcar
​they both deliver but can be up to an hours wait on a friday night.
